Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is remaining tight-lipped on his future after being tipped as a target for Southampton and RB Leipzig. The Saints have just parted company with Ivan Juric after their relegation was confirmed.
It leaves the south coast outfit eyeing their next manager, who will be tasked with securing an immediate return to the Premier League. Rohl has previously worked on the backroom staffs at both Southampton and RB Leipzig and is now being courted for both club’s top jobs.
New Red Bull football chief Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a big fan of the Wednesday manager and has shortlisted him as the Bundesliga side look to appoint their next manager following an inconsistent season.
Rohl took over at Hillsborough in 2023 and helped steer Wednesday clear of relegation before helping the Owls establish themselves as a mid-table side in the Championship, but he’s refused to be drawn on the speculation about his next move.
He said: “For the moment, I will not speak about my future. There are a lot of rumours. But this is no question mark, my focus at the moment is here. If there comes a moment we can speak about my future, it’s after the season.”

Rohl has his Yorkshire outfit sat 13th, nine points outside the play-offs. With five games remaining it looks as though making the top six is beyond them but the 35-year-old has still seen his stock rise having chosen to take the job in Sheffield, which has seen his admirers grow.
When Klopp joined Red Bull it was stated that he will oversee their network of clubs. He is not be involved in their day-to-day running, but will assist with strategic vision, aiding the sporting directors, supporting their global scouting operation and also help with training and developing coaches.

Leipzig have regularly been in the Champions League and still have hopes of repeating that, sitting fifth with six games of the season remaining.
Southampton will be aiming to avoid statistically becoming the worst Premier League season in history. They are just one point off Derby’s total of 11 points, which remains an all-time low at present. The Saints did suffer the embarrassment of being the earliest relegated team in history in seven games still remaining.
