Princesses Beatrice, Eugenie set for huge promotion as William takes charge
Prince William is actively pursuing to reward his two loyal cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, amid major Palace shakeup.
When King Charles ascended to the throne, he made it very clear that the monarchy will be slimmed down in order to alleviate the financial pressure on the Crown and focus on important matters.
However, perspectives changed when the King announced that he had cancer and a month later, Kate Middleton revealed her own cancer diagnosis. While the Princess of Wales in now in remission, the monarch continues to get weekly treatments.
The absence of the senior most royals led to discussions whether the slimmed down monarchy was a good idea. At the time, it was also thought that Beatrice and Eugenie could play a major role in supporting the monarchy.
While Charles is fond of his nieces – as they have appeared in a number of key royal engagements with him and on behalf of him – the daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson don’t have senior royal positions yet. However, that is about to change once William steps in, according to royal author Ingrid Seward.
“When William ascends the throne, Beatrice and Eugenie will be valuable assets, and I’m certain they will get involved with royal duties,” she told Hello! magazine. “It makes perfect sense, because he will need them.”
She explained that the sisters could become a “double act” as they work together in the same way as married couple. “Two gorgeous Princesses working together as sisters would be very powerful. I think it would be wonderful, and I think it will happen,” she said.
Seward reiterated that the King is firm on his stance about the slimmed down monarchy, which is why he has left the task to Prince William to bring Beatrice and Eugenie “into the fold”.
The royal author believes that the sisters would have a role similar to the Duke and Duchess of Kent and will eventually be given a centre stage when the time is right.
