Update [Mon 2nd Jun 2025, 11:10pm]: Best Buy has now unexpectedly removed the 4TB Xbox Expansion Card from sale at the time of writing. It’s unknown whether this was an incorrect listing or if the product was simply listed too early ahead of an announcement. If we find out more, we’ll let you know.
Original Story: It was back in November of last year that we last saw a new variant of the Xbox Series X|S Expansion Card, with WD Black releasing a 2TB version, and now Seagate has gone and quietly unveiled the first ever 4GB version!
We’re not sure how widespread these will be, but the 4TB Xbox Series X|S Expansion Card is already showing on the Best Buy website at an eye-watering price of $429.99, and it’s so new that it hasn’t had any reviews as of yet.

Is there any need for one of these? Well, if you’re got a big Xbox library and you’re not short of cash, there’s every reason why you might want to pick one up. For everyone else though, it’s probably best to focus on the 512GB, 1TB or 2TB versions, especially considering they’re often discounted to much more reasonable prices these days.
Still, there’s your option if you want it. What we’re really hoping to see is another manufacturer making these Xbox Series X|S Expansion Cards beyond just Seagate and WD Black, but it feels pretty unlikely to happen at this point.
