Emmerdale confirmed the future of Tracy Robinson after she made a dramatic threat to leave the Dales.
Thursday’s (April 10) episode saw the character’s world turned upside down after her sister Vanessa Woodfield drunkenly revealed that Tracy had previously stolen from Eric Pollard at the shop.
Despite the fact that the funds were returned – with the help of Vanessa – Eric felt betrayed by Tracy’s actions, with the shopkeeper immediately firing her. Though Vanessa attempted to make amends with her sister, Tracy had already outlined her plans to leave the village.
Tonight’s instalment began in the aftermath of the incident, with Tracy asking Cain to take care of her daughter, Frankie. As he visited Aaron and John, he noted the “strange” disappearing act of Tracy’s husband – and his son –, Nate, not knowing that John was responsible for his death.

While Eric was still distraught at the betrayal of trust, Vanessa attempted to convince her sister to stay put as she promised to fix the situation. Tracy, however, was unmoved, reiterating her belief that there was nothing left for her in the village.
Nonetheless, she still accompanied Vanessa to apologise to Eric, though the pair were shocked to discover that he had called the police. Tracy remained resigned throughout the conversation, though Vanessa lamented Eric for his lack of compassion given his own prior indiscretions.

A softened Eric later informed Tracy that he’d had a change of heart and was open to the idea of giving her her job back, though did admit that she would have to earn his trust again. Tracy subsequently opted to stay in the village, and had a heartfelt conversation with Kerry.
The pair discussed their respective chequered pasts, with the duo agreeing to put their tensions aside and do what’s best for both themselves and their families. Is this the start of a new chapter for Tracy?…
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
