Prince William is set to appear at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show, where he’ll be joined by a fellow royal family member.

The Prince of Wales, 42, will attend the annual agricultural showcase in Wadebridge, Cornwall, on Friday, June 6, alongside his aunt, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.

The event, which has been a staple of the region since 1793, is expected to attract more than 120,000 visitors. It celebrates Cornwall’s farming and rural traditions through a variety of exhibits, including livestock competitions and locally produced food and drinks.

Both William and Sophie are patrons of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association and their joint attendance underscores a shared commitment to the region and its agricultural roots.

Celebrating Cornish Culture and Community

During their visit, William and Sophie are expected to explore the Royal Cornwall Food and Farming Pavilion, where they will sample a variety of locally made products.

Per People, William will also stop by the Duchy of Cornwall hub, where mental health organizations such as Pentreath Cornwall Rural Community Charity, Georgia’s Voice, and Sunrise Mental Health Recovery will be showcased.

Meanwhile, Sophie, 60, is expected to take time to visit with groups she supports as a patron, including LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and Girl Guides, the UK’s largest youth organization dedicated to young women.

A Continued Partnership

This isn’t the first time Prince William and his aunt have appeared together at a public engagement. In June 2023, they appeared together at a private screening of “Rhino Man,” a documentary about wildlife rangers. The screening, hosted by United for Wildlife and held at Battersea Power Station, highlighted their mutual interest in conservation efforts.

At the time, Kensington Palace shared that Sophie was “delighted to join the Prince of Wales at the event this evening to show her support for United for Wildlife.”

Their bond has also been noted during other high-profile royal events. In June 2024, Sophie was seen placing a hand on William’s back in a supportive gesture during Trooping the Colour. The affectionate act came as the royal family made their way off the Buckingham Palace balcony and into the Centre Room.

The Royal Cornwall Show was previously attended by William’s father, King Charles, and Queen Camilla in 2022. During that visit, Charles was honored for his 70th anniversary as Duke of Cornwall and presented trophies in the Livestock Inter-Breed Championship.

This year’s visit by Prince William and Sophie continues a tradition of royal engagement with Cornwall’s farming heritage, underscoring their dedication to both community and cause.
