A specialist highways and construction firm with a base in Devon has been named as one of the UK’s best places to work in a prestigious national guide. Jet Plant Hire in Newton Abbot hires operated road planers to the surfacing industry.
It’s been recognised in the medium organisation category of the Sunday Times’s “Best Places to Work” list for 2025, in the medium organisation category. The firm, which has its headquarters in Evesham and was founded in 1989, has 116 employees.
Published by the national newspaper in partnership with WorkL, the nationwide survey celebrates over 500 of the UK’s top employers across all sectors and sizes.
It honours organisations that excel in creating outstanding workplaces for women, the LGBTQIA+ community, disabled employees, ethnic minorities, younger and older workers, and those offering exceptional wellbeing support.
Jet was recognised for having consistently high levels of employee experience and wellbeing and praised for having its own training school, offering perks including gym membership, regular social gatherings and having a paid volunteer day.
The firm says it is committed to “fostering a positive and professional workplace culture” and points to an impressive employee retention rate, with an average service length of 8.6 years.
