A popular Bristol Harvester restaurant has closed its doors for good this week.
The Harvester restaurant at the Willow Brook Centre in Bradley Stoke announced that it had closed for the very last time on Sunday, June 1.
In a post to social media, the team said: “Today we close our doors for the last time at Harvester Willow Brook. It’s a sad day for all the team involved.
“We would like to thank all team, guests, friends and family for their support this week and always.”
The Google listing for the restaurant now says ‘permanently closed’, while the official Harvester website displays a message which reads: “This restaurant is now closed.
“We have now closed our doors as a Harvester restaurant to make way for something new and exciting. You can find your nearest Harvester by using our Find a Harvester page.”
It is not yet known what is set to replace it, however many locals and customers have been sharing their thoughts on the closure and what the future could hold in the comments.
‘It’s a sad day’
One diner said: “Hopefully it’s made into a Spoons instead.” While a second commented: “Thank you team Harvester for serving Bradley Stoke and surrounds over the years.
“I hope you have all found jobs to go to.”
A third wrote: “Good luck to all the team for the future. It is a sad day. Love to you all.”
Others commented to say they were having to make alternative plans for upcoming occasions.
According to comments on previous posts, customers had been speculating the prospect of the popular venue closing down, with some wondering if rising costs may have been the reason for the closure.
However, this was not confirmed by anyone from the Harvester team.
BristolLive has contacted Harvester for comment on this.
According to Harvester customers in the area, the nearest restaurant from the brand seems to be the Snuff Mills venue, which recently underwent a major refurbishment.
The month-long makeover saw the venue reopen on March 5 on Frenchay Park Road, with a fresh exterior paint job, a hot air balloon inspired wall mural inside, and a cosy, modern makeover.
Meanwhile, the famous fish pond has been retained and filled with fish once more. You can take a look at some photos in our gallery, here.
