Racing Welfare’s Castle to Abbey Challenge will take place on Sunday, July 6, with a number of horseracing industry figures from across the Yorkshire region set to take part.

One of these figures, William Derby, chief executive of York Racecourse, said: “Racing Welfare are an amazing charity who support everyone involved in racing, and have been hugely helpful to members of the team here at York and across Yorkshire yards.”

The challenge is open to anyone and offers the chance to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with racing personalities, including trainers Andrew and Anna Lisa Balding and presenters Josh Apiafi and Vanessa Ryle.

The cost of signing up is £39 and the sponsorship target per person is £300.
