Man Down, a non-profit company, was established to provide men with a safe, judgment-free space in which they can share their experiences without stigma and find support from others.
Primarily, this support is provided through fortnightly meetings held at each Man Down branch, where people can share their own experiences and listen to those of others, all within an informal, relaxed, and understanding environment.
Although all attendees must be over the age of 18, men from all walks of life, regardless of their occupation, religion, political beliefs, or specific mental health challenges, are welcome at these meetings.

Although originating in Cornwall in 2018, Man Down has expanded across the country and currently supports 38 branches in areas such as Bath, Inverness, and Fleet, the organisation’s first branch in Hampshire.
However, following the success of the branch in Fleet, its second branch in Hampshire opened its doors in Romsey on April 30.
Jon-Michael Lindsey, facilitator of the new Romsey branch, said that he hoped to create a space that shows men struggling with their mental health that “you are not on your own”, and give them the ability to ‘talk freely” in a safe and comfortable setting.
The branch hosts meetings every other Wednesday between 7pm and 9pm at I Wanna Be… Roleplay Village in Abbotswood, with the next meeting scheduled for June 11.
Although a children’s play area by day, Mr Lindsey said that the venue, which can hold up to 30 people, has been met with universal positivity.
He said: “When you walk in, you can’t help but smile.”
Attending the branch’s fortnightly meetings is free and no booking is required.
Mr Lindsey hopes the branch will be able to organise social events in the future, including various walks around Romsey and the surrounding area.
The opening of a new Romsey branch is part of Man Down’s aim to host meetings in every part of the country and offer support to as many men as possible.
