Following the win at Bramall Lane, Leeds United were five points clear at the top of the Championship table with Sheffield United left trailing in the wake of Daniel Farke’s marauding side.
Fast forward to full-time at Kenilworth Road after a 1-1 draw against Luton Town, and The Whites were down in third after a capitulation that saw Leeds win just one of their next six Championship matches.
But Leeds have put that blip of form to an end, winning two games in a row. Firstly, the victory against Middlesbrough which came at the same time as Burnley drawing, and Sheffield United losing to Millwall.
It was the Blades’ second successive defeat and then on Saturday, Leeds beat Preston at Elland Road and Sheffield United lost again – a third in a row. The Blades were beaten late on by Plymouth Argyle, 2-1.

Still a Leeds fan despite moving to the MLS firstly with DC United and now at Atlanta United, Klich still shows his cheeky and humorous side on social media from time to time – as well as his Leeds allegiance.
Klich was in action on Saturday evening for Atlanta, losing 1-0 to New England Revolution. But a few hours before he was playing, he posted a two-word response to Sheffield United’s loss against Plymouth.
Responding to a Plymouth fan account that said “everyone in Leeds and Burnley like this”, Klich posted two words: “And Atlanta”.
And Atlanta 🫡😁

Mateusz Klich says if he will fly back for Leeds v Plymouth
Four more games to go for Leeds, now five points clear of Sheffield United. Firstly, a trip to Oxford United before two games at home against Stoke City and Bristol City, before Plymouth on the final day – May 3.
Klich was asked by the same Plymouth account if he would be in attendance for the final game of the season. He replied cheekily: “I wish but there is no direct flights.”
I wish but there is no direct flights 👀😁

Certainly, Klich won’t be in attendance at Home Park on the final day of the season because his current side Atlanta are in MLS action that evening, facing Nashville – but this is Mateusz Klich, so who knows.
