After reviewing CCTV footage, the manager at the Selly Oak pub disputed any claims of a ‘fight’

A ‘friendly’ Birmingham pub ‘which feels like one big family’ was slammed by one reviewer for being ‘low class trash’.
The controversial comment received a response from management who defended the pub and disputed claims a ‘fight’ was about to happen.
The reviewer shared their thoughts about the Selly Oak pub on Tripadvisor last month.

Located on the Bristol Road, the Bear & Staff has a 4.5 score out of five stars on Tripadvisor, based on over 90 independent reviews.
A customer identified as Andrew said: “Great place for a drink and a game of pool. Will be returning again and again, really friendly place, the staff are amazing.”
Eloise added: “Came in with my family, was welcomed by locals and bar staff. Brilliant atmosphere, would definitely recommend and bar staff was great.”
And Jessica posted: “Great atmosphere, plenty of drink offers and a great DJ. Really friendly customers and staff, feels like one big family.”
The opinion was not shared by one reviewer who made claims of ‘a full blown fight’ and slammed the pub for being a ‘low class trash place’.
The reviewer said: “Rough pub don’t go here, it used to be okay I guess.
“Went on Saturday night and it was about to kick off in a full blown fight, they warned us to stay out.
“Very unfriendly and well just rough. Low class trash place basically.”
This prompted a response from Bear & Staff management who reviewed CCTV footage and didn’t find any evidence of the claims.
Bear & Staff management responded: “I’m very sorry you had a bad experience here, I can assure you our clientele are not ‘low class trash’.
“Regarding last Saturday night, I’m pretty sure there were no bad vibes or any kind of confrontations with anyone, in fact our reggae night was really well received by everyone.
“I wonder who warned you to stay out? After reviewing our CCTV of the evening, I can’t see anything that looks even remotely like a fight.”
