Birmingham City-linked defender Harry Darling could have interest outside of the Championship now that Russell Martin has been hired by Rangers.

Ex-Southampton boss Martin has taken over at Ibrox and has already drawn up a transfer wish-list for sporting director Kevin Thelwell.

And Darling’s name is on it according to the Daily Record. Martin has already signed Darling twice, first for MK Dons before taking him to Swansea City in a £1million deal in 2022.

The 25-year-old centre-back is out of contract at Swansea and a bunch of Championship clubs have been credited with an interest in him.

Wrexham, Stoke City and Norwich City have also been linked with summer moves for Darling in addition to Blues.

Darling is a Championship-proven centre-back having been an almost ever-present for Swansea in the last two seasons.

Cambridge-born Darling has only missed 15 of Swansea’s 92 Championship matches in the last two campaigns and netted five goals from defence last term.

He came through the ranks at his hometown club Cambridge before moving onto MK Dons and now Swansea who have offered him a contract extension.
