Loose Women returned to our telly screens on Thursday (5 June), with Kaye Adams once again leading the ITV show.
She was joined by fellow stars Nadia Sawalha, Kelly Brook and Frankie Bridge, who made up the panel. The quartet discussed a variety of topics throughout the ITV programme, which concluded with a significant announcement from Kaye.
Speaking to viewers, she disclosed that Loose Women will not be broadcast on Friday (6 June) due to a scheduling conflict, before revealing details about next week’s episodes.
“That’s it for today! And this week, sadly,” Kaye declared. “We’re off tomorrow for the racing.”
However, she reassured viewers that Loose Women would return to our screens next week with a “great line-up” of celebrity guests, reports Belfast Live.
She added: “We’ve got a great line-up for next week though, including Cheshire housewife Tanya Bardsley, Atomic Kitten’s Liz, she’s got a very personal health story.
“Plus, Si King and Alison Hammond are here too. We’ll see you Monday, have a great weekend!”.
The usual 12.30pm slot on ITV1 for Loose Women will be taken over by live coverage of the first day of the Derby meeting from Epsom, headlined by The Oaks. The coverage on ITV is set to be led by Ed Chamberlin and Francesca Cumani.
The programme will air from 1pm until 5pm, marking a significant change to ITV1’s typical Friday afternoon schedule.
ITV has shaken up its daytime schedule, announcing significant alterations to shows including Loose Women.
The network disclosed that the daytime chat show, as well as Good Morning Britain and Lorraine, will face cuts, while This Morning remains untouched.
Each programme will now air for only 30 weeks per year, with Lorraine’s airtime slashed by half an hour, leaving it at a mere 30 minutes, and Good Morning Britain set to fill the gap with an extended slot.
Kaye opened up about the changes on her How To Be 60 podcast with Karen MacKenzie, confessing: “I didn’t anticipate it, which is probably stupid in retrospect, you get into a sort of rhythm of life. I had a couple of sleepless nights, I have to say, because it’s just like the rug’s been pulled from under your feet – what has been familiar.”
She also highlighted the serious repercussions, stating: “It’s going to have an impact. Lots of people will lose their jobs completely which is terrible, it’s a huge change.”
Loose Women airs on weekdays on ITV1 at 12.30pm
