One villager’s in hot water over Nate’s murder (Picture: ITV)
Emmerdale’s Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) finds herself in the frame for murder after the discovery of Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) body.
Nate’s body was discovered last week, putting an end to months of speculation from Tracy and Nate’s family as to where he’d gone.
She assumed he’d run off to the Shetland Isles to lick his wounds after a beating from dad Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) when he was wrongly accused of kissing Moira (Natalie J Robb).
The truth was far darker than that – Nate had been killed by John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) and dumped in the local lake.
Tracy grew to suspect that Cain might have murdered his son… only to be blindsided when she’s accused of killing him this week.
Taken down the police station for questioning, Tracy is horrified when a key piece of evidence turns up in her home. Has she been framed?

John is desperate to protect Cain when he’s questioned by the police about the day Nate disappeared.
When the interview ends, John hopes that he’s said enough to clear Cain’s name.
Meanwhile, a furious Sam Dingle (James Hooton) accosts Tracy over accusing Cain of murder. And, hitting back at the accusations, Cain throws it back in her face – suggesting she might have killed Nate.
With both parties pointing the finger at each other, John reassures Cain that the police will find evidence of his innocence soon enough.
Determined to clear Cain’s name, he formulates a plan…

The next day, the police arrive at Tug Ghyll with a search warrant. Tracy lets them in adamant, that they’ll find nothing.
However, she’s left gobsmacked when the police find Nate’s phone in Frankie’s playhouse, and haul her down to the station for questioning.
As she tries to protest her innocence, she’s hit with further damning ‘evidence’ – the police were unable to find any record of the removal man who supposedly took Nate’s belongings to Shetland.

Returning home from the police station, Tracy makes it clear to Cain that she still suspects him of Nate’s murder.
The next day, the police reveal that they think Nate was killed on the day he was supposed to leave for Shetland.
Tracy gives them a fake alibi, telling them that she was with sister VanessaWoodfield (Michelle Hardwick) that day.
Later, in the cafe, Tracy asks a shocked Vanessa to corroborate her false alibi.
And, when DS Walsh visits the Vet’s surgery later, she asks her to back up Tracy’s alibi with an official statement.
Will Vanessa agree to lie for her sister?

Setting aside the ‘evidence’ – which includes the phone John was hiding until recently – things don’t look good for Tracy.
Unaware that Nate was dead, she had been using his credit card to make ends meet, giving herself further motive for murder.
Can Tracy clear her name?
