Much will be made of when Leeds United actually start to bring signings to fruition, with another target linked.

Daniel Farke will be working hard behind the scenes at Leeds to make things tick in the Premier League.

There have been rumours of a return for Kalvin Phillips who is definitely leaving Man City, but whether that is back to Elland Road is another question.

Fans will be divided on whether a return would be welcomed or whether they’ve passed the point of heartfelt reunions.

First of all, they have to shrug off heavy competition, and Fulham boss Marco Silva is proving to be tricky.

The Whites are already fighting off competition from the likes of Everton who are keen on many targets.

Angus Kinnear is proving to be a nuisance to the 49ers’ plans as Everton look to battle Leeds for Gustavo Hamer.

Well, now it’s Silva and Fulham who have provided the competition, but a certain former player could help Farke land this target.

MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES

Foot Mercato reports that Fulham and Leeds are ‘lurking’ in the background for Mainz right-back Antony Caci.

Caci played with fan favourite Josuha Guilavogui whilst the midfielder was at Mainz in the 23/24 season, as the 49ers look to strengthen their full-back options.

TEAMtalk have previously said that Caci is worth £8.5m as Farke could land a bargain with the Frenchman’s arrival.

How Jayden Bogle compares with Leeds target Antony Caci

With another right-back mooted, it’s only right to compare Caci with the irreplaceable Jayden Bogle.

Bogle could be Leeds’ signing of the season as the right-back was a revelation in his first season at Elland Road.

The 24-year-old doesn’t seem to be getting replaced with Farke, including Bogle in his six guaranteed starters next season.

But Caci does possess some qualities that could be of use to Leeds in the Premier League, and he does some things better than Bogle.

Jayden Bogle – 24/25 Antony Caci – 24/25 Games played 44 33 Assists 4 7 Touches in opposition box 137 65 Tackles won % 63.3% 66.7% Cross accuracy % 17% 28.6%

It’s no surprise that Caci is on Farke’s radar as his attacking numbers from full-back/wing-back are excellent, as Farke prides himself on attacking full-backs.

The top flight is a whole different ball game to Ligue 1 however, and Caci would have to make a real statement to get in over Bogle.

If the 49ers’ recruitment of right-backs continues to be as good as Bogle’s, Caci could be a brilliant arrival.
