Prince Edward celebrates King Charles meaningful mission in new outing
The royal family released a statement from Prince Edward’s key engagement, in which he celebrated the thoughtful efforts of his brother, King Charles.
The Duke of Edinburgh visited the Royal Hospital Chelsea, which was founded by the monarch years ago.
The hospital is “home to nearly 300 Chelsea Pensioners who have previously served in the British Army and have reached State Pension age.”
Edward joined the senior Britons to celebrate Founder’s Day at the hospital.
Alongside delightful photos from the event, the King’s office shared a message, “Today, The Duke of Edinburgh joined Chelsea Pensioners to celebrate Founder’s Day and their founder, King Charles II.”
“This event has taken place nearly every year since the Royal Hospital opened in 1692. The institution, now over 330 years old, today provides a home and sense of purpose for the Chelsea Pensioners.”
It is important to note that the Edinburghs have been given important responsibilities since King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.
