David O’Meara’s IN A HURRY got right back on track in a hood when a recent runner-up at Beverely, beaten only by a well-backed improver, and she can go one better here at the chief expense of Noble Testimony, who also has the form to play a big part but could have to settle for second once again. Believe In Lies can build on her debut fourth at Pontefract and also needs considering along with debutants Tatanka and Blunder.

LATYNINA really caught the eye when a running-on debut fourth at Carlisle recently and this well-related daughter of Expert Eye looks the way to go with progress very much on the cards. Edward Bethell’s Velvet Whisper also resumed with a promising effort when fourth at Leicester and should ensure David O’Meara’s filly doesn’t have things all her own way, while newcomers Magic Boy and  Patricia R appeal as the pick of the rest and should be monitored in the betting.

A few of these have questions to answer, so Tim Easterby’s DANDY FITZ is worth siding with to take a big step forward from his reappearance at Catterick. He shaped as though he’d come on for the run on his first start for eight months and can capitalise on an attractive mark now in a weak handicap. Latin Five is next on the list on the back of a good fourth at Catterick with Banana and Guy Fawkes also in the mix.

CANON’S HOUSE’s form tailed off towards the backend of last season, but he returned with a much improved performance when routing his opposition over five furlongs at Carlisle last week. He won by six lengths that day, so connections have wisely found an opportunity for him to run under a penalty, and he’ll be incredibly hard to beat if in similar form. Emerald Army has been in consistent form, and he’s respected along with Sugar Baby, who proved equally effective at this trip last time.

There is potentially plenty of pace on here, which should help MARAJITO settle better, and if so, she can continue her steady improvement, having finished a creditable second at Southwell last time despite racing too freely. Over Spiced commands respect following back-to-back wins, most recently defying a penalty at Lingfield with authority. Jeany May bounced back to form at Redcar and completes the shortlist.

LONE PIPER looked fairly useful when opening his account in first-time blinkers at Windsor last season, and he may be able to resume progress over this longer trip, having shaped as though he’d come on for the run in a stronger race than this at Newbury in April. Thrilling Dream should find this return to a mile and a half in his favour and looks a big danger if ready to roll on return, with Ludo’s Landing not ruled out off his latest winning mark.

MEDINILLA continued her progression when winning on first start as a three-year-old at Wolverhampton last month, despite being easy to back beforehand, and she remains open to further improvement returning to turf. She’s preferred to Maddelina, who was off the mark on second career start two weeks ago and looks sure to be suited by the step up to six furlongs on handicap debut, while Lorna B is another potential improver now handicapping.

ARABIAN COBRA remains a maiden following 13 attempts, but he is taken to put that right here on the back of a cracking recent effort at Hamilton where he was just touched off. The combination of the return to turf, this trip and the refitted visor seemingly proved to be the tonic that he needed, and he will take plenty of stopping off the same mark if in anything like the same form. Azuinthejungle gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of Chuti Manika.
