The family of a cat that was found decapitated with its head still missing say they are “devastated and angry”.

The shocking discovery of the cat was found on Willis Road in Kingswood, near Randall Close.

The cat, who was called Whiskey, was found on the driveway of another property.

A lady had found Whiskey and the cat was taken to the vet, where the police have been notified.

The daughter of the cat’s owner said that Whiskey was 15 years old and a loving cat, and that she will be “dearly missed”.

Whiskey was let out to go to the toilet at around 10pm on Tuesday, June 3, but didn’t return home.

Speaking to BristolLive, the daughter said: “The family are completely devastated and angry that a person could such a thing to a defenceless animal.

“We would just like answers and to make other cat owners more aware and if anybody hears or sees anything to please contact the police.

“Whiskey was a loving friendly cat, 15 years old but still had so much life for an old girl, she will be dearly missed and we hope we can get some kind of justice for her.”

A Facebook post by the family said that the head of the cat had still not been found and encouraged locals to check gardens and bins in order to find it.

The post added: “Unfortunately her head has still not been found so if anyone [lives on] Willis road/Randall Close and surrounding areas, please check gardens, bins etc.

“Thank you again to the lady that found her looked after her and took her to the vets, we appreciate that dearly.

“Rest in peace baby girl, you’re with your babies now.”

It is currently unknown what had happened to Whiskey. The vets were approached for comment.
