A man has been arrested and charged after the home of gangster Kevin ‘Gerbil’ Carroll‘s widow was allegedly firebombed.

Kelly ‘Bo’ Green’s home on Drumchapel Road in Glasgow was allegedly attacked in the early hours of May 13. Cops confirmed a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection after a warrant was executed at an address in Glasgow two weeks later.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on May 30. Pictures taken from the scene show black scorch marks at the front of the bungalow-type house.

Kelly is one of the daughters of the late crime boss Jamie Daniel who died of cancer in 2016.

The mum-of-three is believed to have had two children with Gerbil and he also became a step-father to her eldest son.

Before being gunned down in an Asda car park in Robroyston in January of 2010, Gerbil was the Daniel clan’s main enforcer.

The home is understood to have been allegedly targeted amid an explosive gangland war in Scotland.

Violence erupted in Edinburgh in March after cocaine kingpin Mark Richardson’s cronies ripped off Dubai-based Mr Big – recently unmasked as Ross McGill – in a £500,000 drug deal.

Since then, McGill’s foot soldiers have been targeting the associates of Richardson by targeting their homes, cars and businesses.

The relentless vendetta spilled into Glasgow, where members of the infamous Daniels crime clan have also been targeted due to their links to Richardson.

However, Richardson earlier retaliated to the violence by offering a huge £100,000 bounty to track the hitmen waging war on his crew.

On Saturday, Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr – who were both major players in the Lyons crime clan – were killed at Monaghans Bar in Spain.

Monaghan, 43, and Eddie Jnr, 46, have been involved in a bloody rivalry with the Daniel group dating back more than 20 years.

McGill’s out of control gang Tamo Junto (TMJ) have named an individual gangland kingpin they say orchestrated the fatal shootings.

A source close to McGill’s gang said: “TMJ have put the word out that it was a well-known figure who ordered the murders in the Costa Del Sol.

“This guy was expected to retaliate against a series of attacks on his associates at some point, but it’s fair to say the audacity of this has left everyone shocked.”

Police say extensive inquiries into the wars are ongoing.

Over the course of their investigation, named Operation Portaledge, over 8,000 homes have been visited and more than 1,600 vehicles have been stopped.

As of Friday, the total number of individuals to be arrested as part of the probe reached 42.

Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Ferry said: “I want to be clear that violence will not be tolerated, and we will not stop until we bring those responsible to justice.

“We are still following positive lines of enquiry, and this arrest highlights our continued resolve to target organised crime.

“The support of our communities remains vital, and I want to again express my sincere thanks to the public for their continued help and information so far.

“If you know anything that could assist our ongoing investigation, please do the right thing and speak to us.”
