A man has been charged with death by dangerous driving after a Birmingham pensioner died outside a city retail park.
Police said pedestrian Wynford ‘Willie’ Griffiths was struck by a car at the junction of Audley Road and Flaxley Road, Stechford, outside Stechford Retail Park, shortly after 9pm on February 9.
The 71-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Makyle Taggart, 29, has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court this morning, June 6.

A second man, Zephaniah Taggar, 32, was charged with disqualified driving relating to an incident prior to the collision, police said.
He also appeared for his first hearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court today.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “A man has been charged with death by dangerous driving after a pedestrian died following a traffic collision in Stechford.
“Makyle Taggart aged 29, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court this morning (Fri). “A second man, Zephaniah Taggar, aged 32, was charged with disqualified driving relating to an incident prior to the collision and also remanded to Birmingham Magistrates Court today. “It follows the tragic death of 71-year-old Wynford ‘Willie’ Griffiths following the collision in Audley Road on February 9. “Mr Griffiths’ family has been informed of this development, and our thoughts remain with them at this tragic time.”
