TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Aston Villa are interested in signing Marcin Bulka, who was previously at Chelsea.

Unai Emery’s side narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Champions League, but they have a Europa League campaign to look forward to.

The Villans are expected to strengthen their squad this summer, and they are looking at several positions. One of them is a new goalkeeper.

Aston Villa are interested in Nice star Marcin Bulka

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, understands that Aston Villa have turned their attention to Polish goalkeeper Marcin Bulka.

The 25-year-old, who is currently with OGC Nice, has just 12 months left on his current deal, and a number of clubs are following him closely.

Marseille are understood to be keen, whilst Barcelona also showed an interest in Bulka before opting for Joan Garcia – who was also a target for Villa.

Now, the Birmingham giants are very much in the race for Bulka, who has previously spent time with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea. He has emerged as a top-class goalkeeper since leaving the Blues on a free transfer in 2019.

TBR Football understands that Emiliano Martinez’s long-term future remains unclear, and as such, Villa are doing their work on potential replacements.

We are told that Bulka, who has been hailed as ‘absolutely sensational’ by Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig, is now emerging as their top choice.

Nice could sign a Chelsea goalkeeper to replace Marcin Bulka

Nice had hoped that Bulka would sign a new long-term deal, but talks have not progressed. If that doesn’t change, the French side will sell him this summer.

TBR understands that Nice are looking at their options, and one of them is Chelsea’s 25-year-old goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.

The Serbian spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Strasbourg in France and impressed there. People at Chelsea even saw him as their future first-choice goalkeeper.

Now, it remains to be seen what the Blues will do if they get an offer for Petrovic this summer.
