The Princess of Wales has returned to work just days after a security scare at Windsor Castle.
Both Prince William and his wife, Catherine, took a break from their duties last week as their children enjoyed their half-term school holidays. Then on Sunday, a security alarm was triggered at the castle when an intruder reportedly scaled the wall of the castle grounds.
The individual was swiftly apprehended by officers from the Metropolitan Police, who are in charge of security at the royal residence. At the time of the intrusion, it was reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales were at their Adelaide Cottage home on the Windsor estate with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

However, just days after the security incident, it seems Kate held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, according to the Court Circular. This private meeting was not attended by the press and is believed to have been centered around her Early Years initiative.

This initiative was launched by the princess through the Centre for Early Childhood in 2021, which she founded as a cause dear to her heart, reports the Mirror. The foundation’s goal is to raise awareness about the profound impact the early years of someone’s life can have on their future. It also aims to take actions that can help transform society for the better in the future.
Following the security scare last weekend, a man in his 30s was handed over to the local police force, Thames Valley, before being arrested on suspicion of trespass and possession of a Class A drug. The intruder was some distance away from where the royals were residing, as the man was said to have entered the grounds near Town Gate.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said, “A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of trespass on a protected site and possession of Class A drugs after entering restricted grounds at Windsor Castle. Officers in the grounds spotted the man just after 13:00hrs on Sunday June 1st and quickly arrested him. He was then passed into the custody of Thames Valley Police.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales suffered another terrifying security breach just last year after masked intruders allegedly smashed down a barrier and scaled a six-foot fence to get access to the Windsor Castle estate. The two men allegedly broke into the estate during the night to steal farm vehicles before driving off in a pick-up truck and on a quad bike that had been stored in a barn on October 13.
King Charles and Queen Camilla were not at the residence at the time, but William and Kate were believed to be sleeping at nearby Adelaide Cottage with their three children.
