MOTORISTS are facing traffic chaos due to a police incident on the M8.
The motorway is the busiest in Scotland and links Glasgow to areas including Lanarkshire, Paisley and Edinburgh.

But the road has been closed in both directions around Glasgow Airport since early this morning as emergency services attend to an ongoing incident.
It is currently unclear what has sparked this morning’s road drama, which is currently ongoing.
A diversion is currently in place with motorists being ordered to exit at prior junctions.
Traffic Scotland has also asked the public to avoid the area around J27 near Glasgow airport as they face lengthy delays.
The nearby A737 is also closed eastbound at St James Interchange.”
A post by the transport agency said: “The M8 is currently closed in both directions between Junctions 26 and 29 due to an ongoing police incident.
“The A737 is also closed eastbound at St. James Interchange.
“Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time and allow extra time for their journey.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 05:40 on Saturday, 7 June, 2025, we were called to a report of concern for a woman on Renfrew Road, Paisley.
“A number of road closures were put in place.

“All roads have since reopened.”
