One tricky question has left viewers “bamboozled” – can you get it right?

TV viewers have admitted they’ve been left baffled by a tricky question from The 1% Club.

The ITV gameshow, hosted by Lee Mack, has proven to be a huge success since it first premiered in 2022, winning two National Television Awards.

The format sees questions that have already been answered by members of the general public put to 100 contestants in a studio, who are each given a £1,000 stake at the beginning of the game.

Lee asks 15 questions, each of increasing difficulty, with the first being what 90% of the population answered correctly and the final one being what only 1% got correct.

The contestants must lock in their answers within 30 seconds, and can continue through to the next round if they get it right, or pass that round after the 50% question.

The players make it to the final question can win up to £100,000 or split shares of the prize pot, while those watching at home and playing along can simply bask in the glory.

But after one question has done the rounds on social media, fans have admitted being left baffled.

Shared on a Facebook page, it read: What is the next letter in this sequence? SENTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

The question, from a May 2022 episode, was the final one of the quiz show, meaning only 1% of the general population answered it correctly.

And although some people did manage it, others admitted how baffled they were.

“Wouldn’t get it in 30 days never mind 30 secs,” one wrote.

“It’s easy when you know but tricky otherwise,” another said.

“How to feel dumb on a Thursday morning,” someone else wrote.

One cynic said: “All the people answering acting like they worked it out, 100% goggled it or watched live.”

“That makes no sense,” another wrote, while someone admitted they were “lost” and asked for explanations.

“Can someone explain that this is more than just a few buzzwords? It’s driving me crazy,” one said.

Among several people who did figure it out, someone’s correct answer explained: “S-seventeen, E-eighteen, N-nineteen, T-twenty, Each other T represents the numbers between Twenty and Thirty Nine. Next letter is F for Forty.”

“You’re overworking that brain, if I was to be given my entire life to think of that I wouldn’t figure it out,” someone commented.

One sceptic also replied to one of the people who wrote the right answer, claiming: “They watched it on TV, maybe even Googled the answer, no one on the show got it, I was bamboozled and I have an IQ of 139.”

The 1% Club is available to watch on ITVX.
