A murder investigation is stepping up after a boy died in north Manchester.
Emergency services were called out to Nevin Street, in New Moston, at around 5pm on Sunday evening (June 8).
A large police presence surrounded the street and the nearby Fairway Inn, on Broadway, following the incident.
The victim, who is thought to be as young as 13, is believed to have been attacked in the vicinity of the pub.
He was then seen running to Nevin Street, shouting for help.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the boy had tragically died in a statement on Sunday night.
Detectives are still working to establish the full circumstances of what had happened.

Three suspects were arrested yesterday. Their ages and gender have not been confirmed.
An air ambulance was seen landing in nearby Nuthurst Park at around 5pm on Sunday.
One eyewitness told the Manchester Evening News that the boy ran into his doorway, yelling ‘I don’t want to die’.

He said: “He just came through the door and said ‘I’ve been stabbed’.
“We sat him down on a chair and phoned an ambulance. He just kept saying ‘I don’t want to die’.”
A cordon was put in place around Nevin Street and the Fairway Inn on Sunday evening, with police and paramedics seen in attendance.
Forensics investigators combed the scene for evidence last night.
GMP said the boy’s family are aware of the tragedy and are being supported by specialist officers.

In a statement issued last night, Superintendent Marcus Noden said: “This is a distressing and heart-breaking incident where a boy has lost his life.
“We are still trying to establish the circumstances around the incident and have a number of scenes in place.
“Officers are looking for information or eye witness accounts from anyone who was in the Nevin Road area of New Moston at around 5pm today quoting log 2250 of 8/6/25.
“Information can be reported by calling 101 or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. You can also use the reporting tools on our website – always call 999 in an emergency.”
