A once-popular Edinburgh pub is set to reopen next month after closing its doors earlier this year.

The Dog House, on Leith Walk is set to reopen at The Volley following a refurbishment and rebrand, with the team behind The Earl of Marchmont as well as The Record Factory and The Palias in Glasgow behind the latest venture.

In January Star Pubs advertised the boozer on the market in search of new tenants to take it over. The pub, known for its quirky interior, replaced the Mouse Trap in 2023.

The new team plan to rebrand and create a “cool and fun neighbourhood bar” which is set to open in May with work to freshen up the interior currently underway.

An Instagram account has also been set up for the new pub with the team working on a collab with a local pizza restaurant which would see food served from the kitchen too.

Another post by The Record Factory teasing the new opening in the coming weeks said: “We are excited to announce that we are opening a new Bar in Edinburgh on Leith Walk called @thevolleyleith.

“It will be opening its doors next month after a full refurbished / rebrand. We are hoping we can create a cool/fun Neighbourhood Bar to complement the already thriving Leith Bar/Cafe/Restaurant scene.
