Following the release of their latest LP, Finding Peace, UK hardcore outfit Desolated hit the road alongside Shattered Realm, Bayway and more for a pair of release shows in Sheffield and London. Unfortunately following the first show in Sheffield, Desolated’s van was broken into and their gear was stolen.
The group was able to still travel in the van to the next show and perform with borrowed equipment, however a GoFundMe has also been set up to help the band recoup their lost items.
Desolated posted the following/reshared by Joe Hardcore:
So this weekend while I sat in the Sheffield Meadowhall travel lodge foyer talking about the weather and the self service machines in Tesco with new friends. We were infact getting robbed, I’m not really sure what travel lodge staff were doing at this point.
Collectively we have lost thousands of pounds of musical equipment. the entire guitar rig for me and @les.lbu was taken. Which although it was infact both of ours there is no doubt in my mind that I loved it more and had build a special bond too it, it was like a wife to me, it even did things my actual wife can’t do, she’s not converting cat5 any time soon.
We lost guitars, the guitars we rented for SR/BW a case that I thought was grossly overpriced for its ability to keep guitars safe. The damages to the van and loads of other bits.
But on a positive note I can’t pretend that this completely ruined my weekend. I had a lovely time playing with @shatteredrealm and @baywaynj and making some new friends. It’s important that the take away from this is; although people tried to fuck with us and kill our vibe, we overcome the problems and do not dwell on life’s misfortune.
