Edinburgh taxi drivers brought a splash of colour to the streets of the city on Tuesday morning
The event has been running since 1947, and sees children with life-altering disabilities and terminal illnesses ferried around in style. Drivers go all out decorating their vehicles, with prizes for the most impressive.
Bright balloons and flowing ribbons made their way through the capital, after leaving Edinburgh Zoo at 10am. The colourful cabs headed through the city centre and on to Musselburgh and through Prestonpans, finishing up at Archerfield Walled Garden in Dirleton.

Those coming to watch the parade of taxis were urged to bring water pistols. Judges awarded prizes for best float taxi, best balloon taxi, best fancy dressed driver and best fancy dressed child.
Kids enjoy a ‘fun-filled afternoon’ at Archerfield, before returning home at around 4pm. Keith from Central Taxis took home some awards for his cab on Tuesday, with an impressive unicorn display – as he dressed as Where’s Wally.
