Google Fiber has officially begun construction on its high-speed internet network in Queen Creek, marking a major step toward bringing ultra-fast broadband to local residents.
The company announced the groundbreaking via social media this week, following Queen Creek Town Council’s unanimous approval last December of an ordinance allowing GFiber to build a fiber-to-home network.
Service is expected to go live in the first quarter of 2026.
Queen Creek is the third Arizona city to welcome GFiber, which already offers service in Mesa and Chandler. The company provides internet plans starting at $70 per month for symmetrical speeds of one gigabit per second—a price that has remained unchanged since GFiber launched in 2012.
The network relies on fiber-optic cables composed of glass strands, transmitting data through lasers at speeds approaching that of light. The result, according to the company, is a highly reliable connection with 99.9% uptime and fast upload and download speeds, even across multiple devices.
