Ruben Amorim appears ready to ring the changes as Manchester United prepare to face Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Sunday as Ruben Amorim takes his side up to face Newcastle United.

United drew 2-2 with Lyon on Thursday night, leaving the Europa League quarter-final tie on a knife edge ahead of the section leg in Manchester United.

Amorim may be tempted to rotate his squad, especially with such a huge game to come at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Andre Onana has been left out of the United squad and won’t even be on the bench at St. James’ Park.

Altay Bayindir will come in for United, but Amorim may not be done there as he plots other changes.

The Daily Mail now claim that teenage left back Harry Amass is in line for a first Premier League start.

18-year-old Amass made his Premier League debut against Leicester City in March, coming off the bench in a 3-0 win.

Amass is now in line to start a first Premier League game as part of Amorim’s changes.

Amass would likely come in for Patrick Dorgu as United’s left wing back, allowing the Dane to rest up ahead of facing Lyon on Thursday.

Dorgu has played a key role since joining from Lecce in January, and Amorim will want him fresh against Lyon.

Amass has shown potential in the United ranks since arriving from Watford back in 2023 and could now come up against in-form Newcastle winger Jacob Murphy.

The teenager attracted loan interest in January, but United chose to keep Amass around Amorim’s first team.

More United youngsters could feature against Newcastle

Bayindir and Amass represent major changes to the United lineup ahead of facing Newcastle.

This will be a Premier League debut for both players, with Amorim placing real faith in the duo.

Amorim may be tempted to give chances to other players, too, and the bench against Lyon could offer some clues.

Bayindir and Amass were both substitutes, alongside youngsters Jack Moorhouse, Jaydan Kamason and Godwill Kukonki.

Moorhouse has impressed Amorim and is allegedly expected to land a first-team debut before the end of the season.

All of those prospects are unlikely to start together, but we could see them off the bench at St. James’ Park.

Chido Obi will also be in contention with Amorim seemingly prioritising the Europa League over the Premier League based on the early indications of his lineup against Newcastle.
