A new campaign to tackle neighbourhood crime in Wales has been launched.
The initiative, spearheaded by independent charity Crimestoppers, started on June 10 and will run for three weeks.
It aims to inform communities, encourage vigilance, and promote anonymous reporting to help create safer neighbourhoods across the region.
Neighbourhood crime, which includes burglary, vehicle theft, antisocial behaviour, and other local crimes, is a concern for many residents as it affects daily life and community well-being.
Crimestoppers’ campaign aims to empower residents to safeguard their communities by recognising suspicious activities and reporting them confidentially.
Hayley Fry, Wales regional manager for Crimestoppers, said: “Our communities are strongest when residents work together to address crime.
“This campaign aims to raise awareness of neighbourhood crime and encourage everyone to play their part in reporting suspicious activity.
“Remember, when you report through Crimestoppers, your identity remains completely anonymous.”
The campaign will feature digital ads on social media, using national assets to reach a wide audience.
It will highlight simple ways to report crime and share information securely and anonymously.
In an emergency, or if a crime taking place, call the police on 999 or 101.
To pass on crime information completely anonymously, visit the charity’s website and fill in a secure anonymous online form or call the 24/7 UK contact centre on 0800 555 111.
Crimestoppers says that computer IP addresses and calls are not traced and there is no caller line display or 1471 facility.
