Carlos Alcaraz is not the only young player on the ATP Tour who is causing a stir so far in 2025.
Alcaraz made history in Monte Carlo, reaching the final after beating his compatriot Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets.
The Spaniard appeared very pleased with his semi-final performance, with Alcaraz feeling physically strong ahead of the biggest final of his 2025 season so far.
Despite making it to the championship match, Alcaraz has not had it all his own way at the Monte Carlo Masters and was on the brink of crashing out in his quarter-final.

It was in that aforementioned quarter-final where Alcaraz found himself a set down against Arthur Fils, and at 5-5 in the second set his opponent had three break points.
However, Alcaraz admitted that Fils made mistakes and allowed him back into the match before he came back to take the win.
Despite getting the better of the Frenchman in their first meeting, Alcaraz told Prakash Amritraj at the Tennis Channel desk in Monte Carlo that he sees big things for Fils’ future.
“Honestly, I don’t feel any difference playing against someone of the same generation as me,” said Alcaraz. “I just come into the match, or try to, in the same way to others.
“But Arthur is someone who is going to be there and I am going to play more than once against him for sure. Physically he is a beast. He is a complete beast. The power on his shots is unbelievably high.
“I am just really happy to see him around. He is a good friend of mine off the court as well and he’s a really good guy. I am just happy to see him in the quarters and fighting for great things in the Masters 1000.
“He is one of those players who is going to be there. A great first match between us. Hopefully not the last one and it’s going to be even tougher for sure!”
Arthur Fils’ Career Achievements so far
Prior to this year, Fils had not reached a Masters 1000 quarter-final, but he has now done it at all three events this year.
The 20-year-old has won three ATP titles so far in his career, including two at 500 level, and has shown that he is dangerous on all surfaces after reaching the second week of Wimbledon.

Fils is currently at his career-high ranking of world number 15, and after the conclusion of the Monte Carlo Masters he will rise another place upto 14th.
He has also proved to be a problem for the very top players, with Fils beating Alexander Zverev on multiple occasions.
Fils will spend little time reflecting on his Monte Carlo Masters success, with his next tournament already on the horizon at the Barcelona Open.
In his first round match at the ATP 500 event, Fils will go up against former top 10 player Pablo Carreno-Busta.
