Four men were detained on suspicion of robbery and drugs offences in Erdington.

Officers from the Birmingham Proactive Crime Team, were on patrols in the area when they were flagged down at a petrol station last night, Monday, June 9.

A 61-year-old man found nearby was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remained in custody for questioning.

Later, at around 8pm, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle in Clarence Road and asked the driver to stop.

A large amount of drugs and cash were found during a search.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply.

Just before midnight, the team spotted another vehicle which they became suspicious of.

Following enquiries, the vehicle was searched, and a large amount of Class A drugs, cash, and mobile phones believed to be used for drug dealing were found and seized.

Two men, aged 32 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Both men remained in custody for questioning.

The officers were part of Operation Skybridge, which targets offenders and disrupts crime. Earlier the same day, a huge operation took place off Erdington High Street with Trading Standards.

Vapes, cigarettes, and tobacco products worth an estimated £500,000 were seized from a shop and two vehicles linked to it – while similar goods worth an estimated £250,000 were seized from a shop and vehicle on York Road.
