A young girl was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy Glasgow road.

The incident happened on Firhill Road in the city’s North shortly after 8pm on Tuesday, June 10.

Police were alerted to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian in the area.

Emergency crews raced to the scene. After that, the pedestrian, a girl aged 11, was taken to hospital for treatment.

The condition of the youngster is currently unknown.

During the incident, Glasgow City Council revealed Firhill Road was shut from Garscube Road to Firhill Street.

Meanwhile, in a social media post, community group No1Seems2Care claimed an area on Garscube Road had been ‘cordoned off’ by police.

In images shared online, loads of officers could be seen on the street.

However, cops have since confirmed the road has reopened. An investigation into the crash is underway.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 quoting reference 3450 of June 10, 2025.”
