Police swarmed a busy Glasgow road amid reports of a ‘youth with a knife’ last night.

Officers received a report of youths on Wellhouse Road at Edinburgh Road in the East End shortly before 10pm on Tuesday, June 10.

According to cops, reports suggested one of the youths was allegedly in possession of a blade.

Emergency crews flocked to the area and carried out a search; however, there was no trace of anyone and no further reports.

During the incident, a concerned local took to social media to report that ‘nine police vans’ and ‘two police motorbikes’ were in the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.45pm on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, we received a report of youths on Wellhouse Road at Edinburgh Road, Glasgow and one of them being in possession of a knife.

“Officers attended and searched the area; however, there was no trace and no further reports.”
