People travelling from Harrow and nearby areas faced major disruption this morning after a train broke down between South Ruislip and London Marylebone.

The incident, which happened just before 9am, has blocked the line heading into London, causing severe delays and cancellations across the Chiltern Railways network.

Some trains may be delayed by up to an hour, with disruption expected to continue until at least 12:30pm.

Commuters using South Ruislip and connecting stations are being told to check their journeys before travelling.

Rail tickets are also being accepted on Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, Great Western Railway, London Northwestern Railway, and West Midlands Railway services via other routes.

Anyone delayed may be entitled to compensation and is advised to keep their ticket and record details of their journey.
