Horse No 1 PHANTOM CYCLONE (J271) C L Chau Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 2 ALL EYES ON ME (J453) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly.
Trainer C W Chang was fined the sum of $3,000 for presenting the horse in the Parade Ring with a parade hood which was not part of its declared gear.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 SHINKANSEN (H277) L Hewitson Leaving the 150 Metres shifted out and bumped WINDICATOR FAMILY.
After the event L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to hold a forward position with cover with his mount stepping up in distance.
He said after SHINKANSEN commenced well he elected to continue forward to cross to the lead.
Horse No 4 SMILING EMPEROR (J371) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.
Leaving the 150 Metres improved into a run between BEAU GOSSE and SHINKANSEN.
A short distance later SHINKANSEN then shifted out and made contact with WINDICATOR FAMILY, resulting in WINDICATOR FAMILY then racing tight for a short distance thereafter.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 DECRELOT (J551) L Ferraris Shifted in abruptly at the start and was bumped.
After the event L Ferraris reported that he was instructed to take up a forward position from the outside barrier with his mount stepping up in distance.
Horse No 7 PODIUM (H173) Z Purton After the event Z Purton could offer no explanation for the horse’s failure to run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 FAIRY HORSE (J144) H Bowman In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid BEAU GOSSE.
Horse No 9 FOREMOST TEDDY (J058) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 TRADITION (J111) J Orman On jumping was crowded between SMILING EMPEROR and DECRELOT which shifted in abruptly.
Horse No 11 HARRY’S HERO (H332) A Badel Near the 550 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being checked to avoid ALL EYES ON ME which was giving ground.
HARRY’S HERO was then held up for clear running making the Home Turn.
