Daniel Farke is set to lose his first player of the transfer window, with his destiny now looking certain.

Leeds United are expected to have a major overhaul this summer with plenty of options arriving through the door.

But this could also mean there are exits made that help with PSR concerns for the 49ers.

Paraag Marathe isn’t worried about PSR, but if the Whites don’t spend wisely this window, it could crop up as an issue.

For now though, one player is certain to leave, as an offer is tabled and a move is becoming more and more likely.

It’s been an ongoing saga since the end of the season, but Junior Firpo staying at Leeds has always been ‘unlikely’.

Fans would be hoping Daniel Farke could work his magic in retaining the left-back after such a strong campaign, but the signs have always pointed to an exit.

This has now been seemingly confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has given a major update on the 28-year-old’s future at Elland Road.

MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES

Real Betis have emerged as suitors for Firpo, and this has always seemed the probable destination for the Dominican Republic international.

Romano has confirmed this theory as Betis are ‘closing in’ on a three-year contract for Firpo, with his return to Spain edging closer. The deal is now in its ‘final stages’.

Leeds can finally move on from Firpo this summer

There might be a sense of relief among the higher-ups at Leeds following what seems like Firpo’s confirmed exit.

The left-back has had many questions raised on whether he stays or if he goes, but Betis seemed to have put the nail in the coffin.

Just recently, Firpo had a call with Betis to determine his future, and it seems as though the call was a success between both parties.

After coming up in big moments for the Whites this campaign, it seems like the perfect ending for the 28-year-old, who will be starting a new challenge.

Now, the time is for Leeds to line up replacements, as Alex Moreno could be Firpo’s successor this window.

It’s the end of an era for Firpo, but he leaves with his head held high.
