Edinburgh City signings are coming thick and fast as the Scottish League Two combine gear-up for the coming season.

Defender Edin Lynch recently re-signed for the Meadowbank-based team and he has been joined by centre-half Jake Service who put pen to paper on a move from The University of Stirling.

Now, the ambitious Capital club, managed by Michael McIndoe, who began his career at Luton Town, making his professional debut at the age of 18, have added a striker. He’s Jaden Ferguson and he has arrived from Dundee North End.

City bosses have said a massive thank you to the Tayside team, who play in the East Region Midlands League, for making the transfer possible, and the 21-year-old centre-forward is a former Scotland under-16 player.

The former Celtic player joined Hearts on trial in 2022 as the Tynecastle team looked to recruit for their B team.

Then 18-year-old Ferguson took part in sessions with then manager, Robbie Neilson’s first-team squad, and the striker was assessed by then youth coach, Steven Naismith.

Ferguson then moved on to Forfar but now he is back in the Capital with a semi-professional club who are in the fourth tier of the Scottish League system.

City now club hope that Ferguson can score goals to help them mount a promotion push next term. They were so near but so far last season, agonisingly being edged out in the play-offs.
