A London fashion brand is making a comeback to Birmingham city centre seven years after its New Street branch closed.
Hawes and Curtis was located on the corner of Needless Alley until it closed in 2018 and was later replaced by shoe shop Ecco and bakery chain Gail’s after that.
The formalwear brand specialises in fine tailoring and accessories for men and women.

It has made shirts for royalty and Hollywood’s elite for more than a century after it was founded in the capital’s iconic Jermyn Street in 1913.
The New Street branch had been one of Hawes and Curtis’ leading stores and underwent a six-figure makeover in 2014, but closed down four years later.

Now, seven years after it left the city, the retailer is planning to open a brand new store inside the Bullring shopping centre.
The shop will take over the old Police fashion and accessories unit next to Sapphire, on the middle floor near Selfridges.
A launch date has yet to be confirmed for the new boutique, though boards outside hint that it will be ‘opening soon’.
The store is likely to stock Hawes and Curtis’ signature collection of shirts, suits, blazers, shoes and casualwear.
It follows other recent openings in the Bullring such as the Aston Villa superstore, which opened to huge queues on the lower ground floor of the Selfridges side of the mall in May, and menswear retailer Moss, which replaced Yours Clothing.
BirminghamLive has contacted Hawes and Curtis for comment.
