Four men have been charged after disorder in Salford. 10 arrests and eight charges have been made in total as Greater Manchester Police continue with their investigation following chaos on Wednesday (June 10).

Riot police were deployed to Lower Broughton Road after a group of around 50 to 60 people gathered in the area.

A number of cars were damaged – with one burned out – and the road was barricaded with wheelie bins.

The 10 arrests are for a variety of offences including breaching public order, possession of a bladed article, assaulting an emergency worker, possession of a class A drug, theft and being drunk and disorderly.

The four men who have been charged in relation to the incident are:

  • Steven Fielding, 20, of Wood Lane, Partington has been charged with violent disorder and criminal damage. He has been remanded into custody.
  • Kwami Sibthorpe-Walsh, 20, of The Green, Swinton has been charged with breaching public order. He has been bailed.
  • Michael Ennis, 38, of Liverpool Road, Eccles has been charged with violent disorder, possession of a class B drug and two counts of criminal damage. He has been remanded into custody.
  • Nico Collins, 27, of Ward Street, Failsworth has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a class C drug. He has been bailed.

Greater Manchester Police is still appealing for information in relation to the disorder – any witnesses or footage including CCTV, dash cam and Ring doorbell footage can call police on 0161 856 5127.

Detective Chief Inspector Helen Bagnall, of our Salford District, said: “Our investigation is progressing rapidly and we have arrested 10 people and have secured charges against eight of those.

“We have significant resources dedicated to this investigation and officers are on patrol in the local area.

“We are still appealing for information in relation to the disorder – any witnesses or footage including CCTV, dash cam and Ring doorbell footage can call police on 0161 856 5127. Alternatively, you can report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
