Arsenal are preparing for a busy summer transfer window with a number of incoming and outgoing deals already being lined up at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen his squad in the transfer market following the arrival of new sporting director Andrea Berta and is already identifying potential targets.

However, they will first look to move on some first-team players to free up wages and space in the squad with a number of players earmarked for permanent moves.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 11 April that Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga will complete permanent moves after their loan spells.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund, but it is the future of two midfield stars which will likely have the biggest impact on the starting XI.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that both Thomas Partey and Jorginho are expected to leave the Emirates come the end of the season.

Partey, 31, and Jorginho, 33, will both be out of contract in June as things stand and no plans have been put in place to extend their deals.

Between them, the two midfield stars have made 51 appearances across all competitions while there is little strength in depth behind them in the squad.

As a result, Arteta is planning to delve into the transfer market and has already identified replacements to slot into the deeper role behind Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in February that Arsenal want to sign Martin Zubimendi, but face competition from Real Madrid.

Partey and Jorginho are not the only players set to leave Arsenal in the summer, however, as the plans for an overhaul of their depth options are being accelerated.

Football Insider revealed on 13 April that Neto is set to leave Arsenal and return to Bournemouth following his season-long loan spell at the Emirates.

During his time at Arsenal, the one-cap Brazil international has made just one appearance given David Raya’s importance in Arteta’s first-team plans.

He will now return to Bournemouth amid speculation over the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga, where the Cherries will decide his long-term future.
