A third person has died following a crash on the A36 two weeks ago which claimed the life of a man who lived near Bristol.

On Saturday, May 31, at around 10.30am, a red Toyota Prius and three Vespas were involved in a crash at Knook, near Warminster.

A rider of a Vespa, Robert Best, 62 and of Bradley Stoke, was declared dead at the scene.

He was travelling with a friend to Normandy at the time of the crash.

Rob was described as a “good husband, father, son, brother and friend” in a tribute.

Days later, on June 5, a woman in her 60s, who was riding pillion on a second Vespa, died in hospital.

A third person, a man in his 60s, was the rider of the third Vespa.

He died from his injuries in hospital yesterday evening (Thursday, June 12).

It means that a person riding on each of the Vespas has now died.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “His next of kin are aware and our thoughts are with his family.”

Wiltshire Police said: “We continue to appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage of the incident as our enquiries into the collision continue.
