There was once a time when Australian cricketer, David Warner was one of the most influential players in IPL. He was a remarkable captain for the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise and even let them to a trophy in 2016.

Warner is one of the most loved cricketer in Hyderabad, and the admiration is still very much intact. However, Warner is no longer in the main mainstream cricketing scene due to age and form factors.

In this context, Warner was not even picked by any franchise in the recently held mega auction. This meant that he was without an IPL contract.

However, Warner managed to find a suitor for him in Pakistan. As it turned out, he was able to get a central contract in the Pakistan Super League and he is a part of the same now.

Warner is captain of the Karachi Kings franchise that is a part of the Pakistan super League that officially started yesterday. He even played for the team in a winning cost in the game last night.

From being an absolute legend in the IPL and an iconic player for Sunrisers Hyderabad, it is strange to see Warner taking part in a Pakistani league while we are indulging in peak IPL action. This must be a downgrade for him as well, but again that is how international Cricket pans out.
