A Liverpool bakery which frequently sees customers queuing down the street to get their hands on its pastries has announced a major change to its menu. Pastille Bakery found its footing in the kitchen of founder Jamie Heffey’s home years ago.

With the help of his partner and mum, Jamie whipped up a storm to take tasty treats to markets and pop-ups where the business continuously sold out of items. From its humble beginnings, Pastille Bakery has opened its own venue on Gibraltar Row in the Liverpool Waters area.

And now Pastille is offering customers a new brunch menu – to the delight of bakery fans who are excited to try the new dishes.

Sharing the news with customers, the team at Pastille said: “Alright gang — it’s finally happening! Pastille Brunch is live. You know we don’t play when it comes to food and trust us, you’re gonna wanna try this!

“Think Eggs Benny, breakfast baps with chilli jam and French toast to name just a few dishes you can dive into. Weekend only, starting Saturday, 9.30am – 3.30pm, no need to book just rock up and bring a smile. First come first served.”

Since launching, the brunch spot has featured on the social media pages of a number of prominent Liverpool influencers, including Morgan Bold who described it as “the kind of brunch that’s worth waking up for.”

The brunch menu includes a ‘brekky bap’, avocado on toast, shakshuka, eggs royale and French toast served with a choice of streaky bacon, strawberries and cream and blueberries and creme fraiche.

Speaking to the ECHO upon the opening of his first city venue, Jamie said: “We’re buzzing to finally open. We’ve always had a great response from people at pop-ups and markets and we usually sell out. Everything is gone by the end of the day. The soft launch sold out too so it gives us a nice idea of what to expect with the venue. We’re excited for everyone to see what we’ve done with the place and see where we go from here.”

Looking back on his whirlwind business journey, Jamie told the ECHO: “This past year has been an incredible journey. The support from our community has been overwhelming and surpasses anything I could’ve ever had imagined.

“I’m also beyond excited to announce that we’ll soon be opening our third location in the food court at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre. We look forward to what collaborations may lie ahead in the future.

“This year has been a year of growth, opportunities, and most of all, for being able to share my passion with all the familiar faces who make the trip to the bakery week after week.”

Pastille bid farewell to its popular stall in the Baltic Market in order to focus on its other ventures across the region. Speaking about the closure, Jamie said: “An important announcement. We’ve made the difficult decision to close our dessert bar as we focus our efforts on some exciting new projects. Massive thanks to everyone who’s supported us along the way.”
