An investigation is underway after an injured girl was found lying in the street.

West Midlands Police were called to the Fold, around the Hillmeads Road area, in Kings Norton on Saturday morning (June 14), where they found the wounded female.

She was taken to hospital though her injuries are not said to be life-threatening.

A cordon was placed near a bus stop with a police car parked next to it on Saturday morning.

Officers are investigating how the girl sustained her injuries.

Anyone who has information or CCTV is asked to contact the force.

West Midlands Police said: “We were called after a girl was found injured in the street.

“She was taken to hospital to be assessed, but thankfully her injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

“Officers are carrying out CCTV enquiries to establish how she was injured.

“Anyone with information can contact us via 101 quoting log 798 of 14 June.
