An investigation is underway after a fight broke out in front of shoppers at a Birmingham Tesco.

Police were called after disorder erupted at the Princess Alice Retail Park branch at around 3.30pm on Saturday (June 14).

The offenders fled by the time officers arrived at the Tesco, just off Chester Road in New Oscott.

Enquiries are underway to identify those who were involved and anyone with information is asked to contact police.

There were no reports that the supermarket, which would have been packed with Saturday shoppers, has closed.

West Midlands Police said: “We were called to reports of a fight inside a supermarket in Princess Alice Drive, at around 3.30pm

“Officers arrived at the scene but those involved had left.

“Enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved.

“Anyone with information can contact us via 101 quoting log 3101 of 14 June.”

The busy retail park is Princess Alice is home to many big name brands including Mountain Warehouse, Next, Boots, Curry’s and Bannatyne Health Club & Spa, Costa Coffee and M&S Food Hall etc.
