Tottenham Hotspur look set to be closing in on completing their first piece of transfer business under new head coach Thomas Frank.
Tottenham did not sign any new players during the first part of the summer transfer window which ran between June 1st – June 10th, but with the window reopening on Monday, they are now about to be once again able to conduct their transfer business.
Many Premier League clubs were active in the first part of the transfer window, while Tottenham were busy looking for a new head coach following the decision to sack Ange Postecoglou on his two-year anniversary of taking the job.
A new era began following the appointment of Thomas Frank as Tottenham head coach and the Dane now looks set to have Mathys Tel at his disposal on a permanent basis.

Mathys Tel is close to joining Tottenham on a permanent transfer following productive talks with Bayern Munich.
The French U21 international initially joined Tottenham on a loan during the winter transfer windown with a view to a permanent transfer.
Tel spoke to Wilson Odobert about joining Spurs prior to his move while also having positive discussions with former boss Ange Postecoglou.
RMC Sport have now revealed that Tel will sign a six-year contract with Tottenham which will run until the summer of 2031.
Last season, Tel scored two goals in 13 league appearances, 11 of which were starts, but was an unused substitute for Spurs’ Europa League final victory over Manchester United.
Tel will look to build on last season
Tel joined Tottenham at a difficult time with the club in the middle of an extensive injury crisis and looks set to now get a full pre-season under his belt with Thomas Frank.
Hopefully, this will give the Frenchman more time to adapt and find his best position, having had to make do with a bit-part role at times under the Australian, especially when Heung-min Son returned to fitness.
Now, with Son’s future at Tottenham in doubt amid interest from Saudi Arabia, it could a case of Tel looking to step up and try to fill the boots of the South Korean.
