Police and the DVLA towed away 13 vehicles around Bridge Road, Anthony Road and College Road

Police teamed up with the DVLA to seize 13 vehicles during a sting on untaxed cars.

Mercedes, Seats, Golfs and a van were loaded up and taken away on Saturday morning following complaints from residents in Alum Rock.

An enforcement squad descended on suspicious cars lining the pavements of Bridge Road, Anthony Road and College Road.

After checking their details with the database, those which were found to be untaxed were towed away.

The Washwood Heath Police team posted the operation on the X platform and said they would return.

The force said: “We have been listening to local residents and carrying enforcement around vehicles with no tax.

“We seized 13 vehicles around Bridge Road, Anthony Road and College Road.

” We did a similar operation last month and will continue to enforce against those who flout the rules.

“We continue to do regular pre-planned parking enforcement and vehicles seized for no tax based on feedback from the local community.”
