A POPULAR Glasgow cafe has announced its shock closure and fans are gutted.

Haylynn Canteen, on Dumbarton Road, will shut shop for good on 10 May.

An online post reads: “We want to express our deepest gratitude for your support over the years.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Haylynn Canteen, on 10th May.

“Serving you has been an incredible experience, and we are truly thankful for every cup of coffee drank, plate of food consumed and memory made.

“But our time is up. Sorry.”

Loyal customers have been left gutted and rushed online to share their disappointment.

One said: “Gutted is an understatement.”

Another added: “You created something really special and you will be missed.”

A third wrote: “An amazing place with incredible food! All the best for the future.”

Another commented: “You will be such a loss to the neighbourhood.”

Elsewhere a family bakery is closing down and punters have been left gutted.

Allan’s Bakery in Edinburgh will shut shop due to the owner facing “health challenges”.

An online post reads: “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you who have supported Allan’s Bakery over the years.

“In particular, I would like to acknowledge the unwavering support during the challenging times that small businesses have faced in recent years.

“Regrettably, I am currently facing health challenges that have rendered me unable to resume my work until my recovery in a few months, provided that my condition improves.”
